Feathers.

If you know us, you probably know that my sister Clancy and I couldn't be more different. She often accuses me of being "boring". Well, I'm not boring, but I do consider myself to be somewhat of a simple gal. Her room is colorful, cluttered and artsy-shabby-chic-esque (got that?); Mine is minimal with neutral-colored furniture and paint and little pops of color here and there. Her clothes are trendy and fun; I go for a more classic, non-fussy pieces that I can wear over and over again -- just with different accessories and, of course, awesome shoes -- without anyone noticing. You catch my drift.

Anywho. Yesterday Clancy came home with a rather odd request. Would I go get feather extensions put in my hair with her? Yea... Feathers... Real ones. So in a totally boring, typical, Alex move, I said: "Yes, Clancy, I would love to go get feathers in my hair."

So the story goes: A sweet girl named Sarah came into Clancy's store to buy some clothes. Clancy noticed her hair accessories and wanted some for herself. Come to find out, Sarah does feather extensions when she's not busy being an editor at an engineering company. So last night, us and about six other girls met at a Tropical Smoothie (random) and had a put-feathers-in-your-hair party.

Up to six feathers will fit in each metal clamp. Each cluster of feathers costs $10. Once you choose which feathers you want-- it only took me about 2 hours to decide -- the actual installation only takes a couple of minutes.

Me and my purple feathers.
So there you have it. Feathers. I ended up with five purple ones... I figured they would blend just enough so that people at work wouldn't think I was a freak. Y'all should get some.

  2. Whit - Clancy has short hair and they look sooo cute! And, they're easy. Wash, dry, straighten, curl... You'll never even notice they're there.
